In May 2018 501(c)(3) status was granted by the IRS. This is accomplished by creating partnerships between MAEF, Moon Area School District, the community, alumni, businesses, and charitable benefactors. The mission of the Foundation is to be a catalyst for positive change and to enhance, develop, promote, and finance innovative educational programs, activities, and projects for the Moon Area School District and community.

Thanks to a generous donation from Image360, our student designed logo was adopted. In April 2018, the Moon Area Education Foundation (MAEF) was incorporated. With an eye on the future and a vision for enhancing Moon Area’s educational excellence, the seeds were planted to establish a nonprofit educational foundation to benefit the district and community.
